Have you ever gotten up early in the morning and watched the sun rise? Have you ever watched a sunset? Have you ever fed the birds or other wildlife in your area? Have you wondered or marveled at the beauty of God’s creation?
God made this earth a beautiful place. It is wonderful to be able to go outside and see blue sky with big, white, fluffy clouds, grass and trees. You can watch the squirrels and other animals that enjoy the outdoors.
God made the world and the animals in it. He made it perfect. All of the animals and plants depend on each other. For example, squirrels depend on the trees for their food as well as their homes. Insects depend on plants and plants depend on the insects. Many other animals also depend on plants for homes or for food.
God has made the world to care for itself. He has given human beings “…dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over cattle, and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.: (Gen 1:26)
Unfortunately, over the centuries, people have abused that dominion — killing animals for no reason and polluting the waters and the land. Mankind has harmed animals that live in those areas and has made land and water look dirty and DEFINITELY not beautiful. I would hate to have to live in a place that is dirty and polluted. It is a shame that in their dominion over the world, some destroy parts of it.
“Oh Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Who hast set thy glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings, hast thou ordained strength because of thy enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon, and the stars, which thou hast ordained: What is a man that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hand; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, you, and the beasts of the field: the fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the sea.s. O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all of the earth! (Psalms 8)”
How excellent is God! He created this beautiful earth and has given us the time to enjoy it.
I thank God for the chance to see and enjoy this earth. By watching the birds, squirrels, rabbits and other animals that venture into my yard, I can see a small part of the beauty God created. What a beautiful place!
